Is your move The Robot or The Hustle?

If you know what we mean by that, then you must know disco. And what’s disco without ABBA. Yep, Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid were the singers and songwriters in the 1970’s that defined pop music on an international scale. What made this group so unique was that each singer’s individual music talent translated into many languages, along with their outrageous stage costumes and distinct sound.

Disco contains elements of funk, soul, pop, salsa and psychedelic. For many children of the 50s and 60s, boogying down at night clubs or at home was part of their upbringing, and moves like The Robot and the Hustle were popular dances. By the late 1970s, most major cities had thriving disco club scenes, most famous of all was Studio 54 in New York city.

In April, the nostalgia of disco is a little closer to home with The Music of ABBA at the London Convention Centre. So swap your jeans this time for disco gear. Not only will you have a good time, but you’ll be helping families in our community. All funds raised by Jeans ‘n Classics goes directly to building homes for working families.

Hits like The Dancing Queen, SOS, Fernando and Gime Gime Gime made ABBA a sensation. And for a younger generation, their music has withstood the test of time with a hit Broadway musical and Mama Mia the movie. After this concert, you’ll be humming ABBA tunes for a week. You’re welcome.

Show us your moves, and your disco style, on April 25th with The Music of ABBA.  Click here to purchase your tickets.  And thanks to the Carpenters Union Local 1946, this season’s sponsor, we think you’re groovy.
