Please consider volunteering for Habitat!

When Derek Dilabbio began volunteering with our affiliate 3 years ago, he had already been working with youth in the community to teach construction techniques. Because Derek is a talented trades person who wants to give back to his community by helping hard working families attain home ownership, Habitat was a perfect fit for him. Often we have youth on our job sites who are interested in the trades. Derek is able to help teach them skills while at the same time building homes for our families. When we have highly skilled jobs that need to be done such as framing or trimming, Derek is there to get the job done right. Over the course of the time he has been volunteering, he has helped build a wheelchair ramp for a family whose Mom has MS, renovated the Habitat offices, and worked on 7 Habitat homes. Derek is the type of person we need to make Habitat a success. Great volunteers like Derek allow Habitat to fulfill its vision of “A world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.”

Volunteer Opportunities

We are continually seeking volunteers interested in giving back to their community. Some of the roles we are looking for are:

• ReStore: Our St Thomas, Stratford and Woodstock ReStore locations are continually in need of volunteers to be Warehouse Assistants, Truck Drivers Assistants and Salvage Crew Volunteers.
• Crew Leaders: Volunteers with construction experience and leadership skills to mentor volunteers on site
• Build Registration Volunteers: Able to assist with registering team day volunteers at the London Build site during Team Days.
