Culver Drive refurbishment project

Culver Drive refurbishment project Habitat homeowner image - mom, dad & childHabitat Heartland is thrilled to announce that the Culver Drive refurbishment project will be home to Jamie, Jennifer and their 4-year-old son Christopher! The new Habitat homeowner family is looking forward to moving into their new home in Spring 2021. Starting in April, Habitat Heartland will complete renovations and upgrades on the home, including updating the kitchen and bedrooms, replacing the flooring, painting, and general updates throughout.

“Living on ODSP and part-time jobs, we struggle to provide a positive and supportive learning environment for our son,” says Jamie, who will be the first person in his immediate family to become a homeowner. “We enjoy sharing family time attending baseball and hockey games, camping, and riding bicycles in the park.” Currently the family lives in a 600 sq.ft. apartment on the 8th floor where there are often maintenance problems. Jamie and Jennifer’s new home will give them the freedom of a safe place for their energetic son to grow up. They are particularity excited to have their own backyard, as the family loves to spend time outdoors together.

The Culver Drive refurbishment project is a unique opportunity for Habitat Heartland to bring affordable housing to the community, as it is a refurbishment of an existing semi-detached 2-story home. This project is made possible by the Estate of Mr. John Joseph Arnold’s donation of the Culver Dr. home. This life-changing donation will bring strength, stability and independence to Jamie and Jennifer’s family.
