New Heartland Homeowners Receive Keys To Their Habitat Homes

Habitat for Humanity celebrates every time a new homeowner receives the keys to their new home. We call this a key ceremony – and invite members of the community to join us to celebrate a family’s journey into affordable homeownership. Recently we celebrated with three new Habitat homeowners who received the keys to their homes, in Brant County and Drumbo.

Oakhill, Brant County, ON – On Friday, August 26th – a key ceremony celebration took place in Oakhill, Brant County – to celebrate new homeowner Kayla and her family. To learn more about this build, read the media release or watch the key ceremony presentation.

New homeowner Kayla said, “Without Habitat for Humanity’s homeownership program, I would never have the opportunity to bless my children with a safe and secure place to call home. Habitat for Humanity has provided me with the opportunity to pay into a mortgage of my own instead of paying endless rent payments to my landlord. Thank you Habitat for everything you have done for my family and I.”

Drumbo, ON – On Tuesday, August 30th – a key ceremony celebration took place in Drumbo – to celebrate new homeowners Kristen, Ian and family & Laura and family. To learn more about this build, read the media release or watch the key ceremony presentation.

“Having a Habitat Home means stability; it means love”, said new homeowner Laura, “Without this opportunity from Habitat, I would not be able to provide my family a home to call our own. We look forward to paying it forward and to this next chapter in our lives.”
