A New ReStore in Listowel opens Jan 20!

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are home and building supply stores that accept and resell quality new and used building materials. Shopping at a Habitat ReStore is a socially conscious decision, as funds generated are used to fund local Habitat for Humanity homebuilding projects. As well, shopping at a Habitat ReStore is an environmentally conscious decision, as much of what is sold is product that is new, gently used or customer returns that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

Habitat ReStores accept donations from the general public and businesses.

Seems like a great idea!

It is, and it’s a Canadian idea at that. Five volunteers from Winnipeg, Manitoba opened Habitat for Humanity’s first ever ReStore in 1991. Today, there are almost 100 locations in Canada and over 1,000 worldwide raising funds to enable families to partner with Habitat and access affordable homeownership.

Volunteer at Habitat’s ReStore

While many Habitat for Humanity build projects only take place at certain times of the year, Habitat ReStores always provide the opportunity to volunteer. They are a great place to learn skills and meet new people, all while helping build more affordable Habitat homes for local families.

Habitat ReStores are always looking for new volunteers. To contact the new Listowel ReStore located at 500 Rocher Road call 519 815 8158 or go to habitat4home.ca for more information on Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario. Simply shop, donate or volunteer to help local families realize their dream of homeownership!
