Meet Mike & Scott our new partners from Community Living North Perth
Mike is a 39 year old gentleman that was born and raised in Listowel. Mike connected with Community Living North Perth in 1995 through Summer Support, which he continued to engage until 2000. Community Living North Perth also began to provide supports to Mike outside of the Summer Support in 1995, in conjunction with Family Services Perth Huron when he was 18 years old, and have continued to provide supports to him ever since – once supporting Mike for only 4 hours a week, to now a combination of support for Mike, not accounting for his Assisted Living Supports, approximately 38 hours a week. Mike is very much looking forward to a new home he can call his own and where he will have a full-fledged support system around him to help him flourish, living in a community based environment more suiting his age and personal goals in life.
Rob is a 36 year old gentleman that was born and raised in Listowel and the surrounding area. From 2001 to present, Rob’s developmental services funding allots him enough support to access his own apartment 3 nights a week and most days and evenings, except Sundays, with the other nights at his parent’s home. Rob connected with Community Living North Perth in 1995 through Summer Support, which he continued to engage until 1999. Community Living North Perth also began to provide supports to Rob outside of the Summer Support in 1997 when he was 18 years old, and have been providing supports to him ever since. His support staff assists Rob with independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning and maintaining his apartment, his own personal care skills, and accessing his community of North Perth keeping in touch with people in his life and places he likes to visit. Rob is very much looking forward to a new home he can call his own and where he can enjoy his own place in its entirety, without the weekly back and forth between 2 homes.
