Lend a hand to the ReStore as Warehouse Assistant. All you need is a friendly attitude, willingness to help with projects and learn new skills. Retail experience and knowledge of building materials are helpful, but not required. Duties might include: greeting donors, lifting merchandise, using carts and moving items; sorting, cleaning, and inspecting product; making simple repairs on furniture and other merchandise; moving goods to appropriate areas of the sales floor; placing stock on appropriate shelves
Our Volunteer cashiers are front and center, helping customers, answering questions and gaining valuable experience in customer service while having fun! Experience working in a retail store environment is desirable but Habitat for Humanity Heartland will train. The volunteer must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to make change and operate a cash register.
The position will involve accompanying the ReStore Truck Driver to pick up or deliver household and commercial donations from the warehouse to the home/business of our ReStore customers. They will represent Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario while interacting with the public and customers. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
